Trainee / Graduate Water Hygiene Engineer in Sheffield, Yorkshire And The Humber

• Routine Water Monitoring: Conduct temperature profiling of hot and cold water systems, record findings, and identify deviations from safety parameters.
• Water Sampling & Analysis: Collect chemical and microbiological water samples from various facilities for laboratory analysis.
• System Maintenance & Servicing: Inspect, clean, and descale showerheads and spray outlets. Service and test Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs).
• Inspection of Storage Systems: Learn to inspect cold water storage tanks and calorifiers (water heaters) for signs of corrosion, debris, or contamination.
• Digital Reporting: Use a company tablet/smartphone to accurately log site data, logbook entries, and digital photos for client compliance portals.
• Client Relations: Act as a professional representative of the company on-site, answering basic questions and explaining compliance requirements clearly to site managers.

• Degree or Equivalent: A degree (BSc/BEng) in an Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Sustainability, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering discipline is preferred. (Relevant college/apprenticeship qualifications with strong science foundations are also highly valued).

• Practical Mindset: Comfortable using basic hand tools and working in a hands-on, active environment (which may include plant rooms, lofts, or outdoor facilities).
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate confidently with clients and teammates.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy when capturing numbers, data, and writing concise technical reports.
• Time Management: Highly organised with the ability to manage a daily travel and site schedule efficiently.
• Tech Savvy: Proficient in using mobile applications and standard digital software for field reporting.

• Driving Licence: A full, clean UK Driving Licence is essential (due to the mobile nature of field-based operations).
• Background Check: Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (criminal record check) as many sites include schools, hospitals, and care homes.

• Comprehensive Training: Full technical training leading to industry-recognised qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds / Water Management Society certifications).
• Company Vehicle: Fuel card and fully serviced company van provided for business use.
