What You Will Do

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Kinship Team, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management.

  • Allocate workloads effectively, ensuring all casework meets the assessed needs of children and their families.

  • Chair reviews and meetings, providing expert guidance and responding appropriately to complaints and escalations.

  • Manage and monitor team budgets, ensuring resources are used efficiently and in line with council guidelines.

  • Build and maintain strong internal and external professional relationships to promote partnership working and a positive team culture.

  • Provide high-quality supervision and appraisals, ensuring consistently high standards of social work practice.

  • Assure the quality and compliance of social work interventions with legislation, statutory guidance, and departmental standards.

  • Lead on quality assurance activity, audits, and performance monitoring to drive continuous improvement.

  • Implement service improvements based on performance data, audits, and learning from practice.

  • Contribute to the development of service policies, procedures, and strategic planning.
