An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team within Children’s Services in Greenwich. This ongoing locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £37.00 per hour and flexible working options with both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
In this role, you will work at the frontline of safeguarding by assessing referrals, sharing information across agencies, and making informed decisions that ensure children and young people receive the right support at the right time. You will collaborate closely with partner organisations including police, health services, and education professionals to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

What You Will Do
Provide effective social work practice that promotes the welfare and protection of children, particularly those in complex safeguarding situations.
Lead planning and decision-making processes to ensure timely and appropriate interventions for children and families.
Ensure children’s voices, wishes, and experiences are central to all professional decision-making and support planning.
Provide professional leadership within the team, supporting collaborative working and resolving professional differences where required.
Support and mentor less experienced social workers, helping maintain high standards of professional practice.
Undertake case management responsibilities including assessments, planning, and reviews in line with statutory and professional frameworks.
Review cases where necessary and initiate improvement actions to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Prepare professional reports and evidence for panels, meetings, and court proceedings where required.
Promote inclusive and culturally sensitive practice, ensuring services reflect the diverse needs of children and families.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
Current registration with Social Work England.
Experience working within Children’s Social Care, ideally within safeguarding or MASH services.
Strong knowledge of UK safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks relating to children and families.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency safeguarding environment.
Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
