An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Social Workers to join the Locality Team in Leicestershire. This role focuses on safeguarding children and supporting families through high‑quality statutory social work. You will manage a dynamic caseload, including Child Protection and court work, while working closely with families and multi‑agency partners to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for children.

What you will do

• Manage a caseload of children and families, delivering effective support within a locality model.
• Undertake Child Protection investigations and complete comprehensive assessments.
• Prepare and present detailed reports for court proceedings.
• Carry out statutory visits, care planning, and reviews to safeguard children.
• Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners including schools, health services, and police.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date case records in line with statutory requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements

Essential:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Proven experience in Child Protection and court‑related work.
• Strong assessment, report writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a complex and challenging caseload independently.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience within a Locality Team.
• Experience working in a UK local authority setting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together guidance.
