What You Will Do
Undertake statutory assessments for children with disabilities and their families, ensuring comprehensive evaluations of their needs.
Develop and implement Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Plans, providing tailored support based on each child’s circumstances.
Carry out safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments in accordance with statutory guidance and safeguarding frameworks.
Provide ongoing support and interventions to families, promoting the wellbeing and development of children with disabilities.
Collaborate closely with partner agencies including education, health services, and specialist disability teams to deliver holistic care.
Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and reviews, advocating for the best interests of children.
Maintain accurate and timely case records, ensuring high standards of documentation and case management.
Advocate strongly for the needs of children and young people with disabilities, ensuring their voices and needs are recognised.
Promote independence, inclusion, and positive outcomes for children and their families through strengths-based practice.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
Current Social Work England registration.
Experience within Children’s Social Care, ideally working with children with disabilities.
Strong knowledge of UK safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks relating to children and families.
Ability to work effectively within multi-agency environments and manage complex cases.
Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
