Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a Children with Disabilities Team on a temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and confident practitioner to work within a specialist statutory service supporting children and young people with complex needs and their families.
This role sits within a highly supportive multi-disciplinary environment, offering the chance to make a real difference to vulnerable children across the local area. You will be working across Chester, Ellesmere Port, and Winsford, supporting families to achieve positive outcomes through effective assessment, planning, and intervention.
Role Purpose
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality statutory social work services to children and young people with disabilities. This includes safeguarding, assessment work, care planning, and ensuring all interventions are child-centred, strengths-based, and outcome-focused.
The role requires strong experience within children’s social care, confidence in managing complex caseloads, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities and their families
- Undertake statutory assessments, including Child in Need and safeguarding assessments
- Produce clear, accurate, and timely reports, care plans, and reviews
- Carry out home visits and ensure regular direct work with children and families
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and strategy discussions
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, escalated, and managed appropriately
- Maintain accurate case recordings in line with statutory and organisational standards
- Support families in accessing appropriate services and interventions
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and improved outcomes for children and young people
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Experience within Children’s Services, ideally Children with Disabilities or safeguarding teams
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004
- Experience managing complex caseloads in a statutory setting
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report writing skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
