What you will do:

Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, carers, and professional networks to achieve safe and positive outcomes.

Deliver relationship-based, child-focused social work practice using the Signs of Safety approach.

Assess risk, plan interventions, and implement actions to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.

Work effectively across teams and partner agencies to ensure families receive appropriate and timely support.

Maintain high standards of practice, performance, and case recording.

Engage in reflective practice, supervision, group learning, and continuous professional development.

Contribute to a learning culture by sharing practice knowledge and learning from both successes and challenges.

Apply trauma-informed principles, recognising the impact of trauma on children, families, and professionals.

Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion while actively challenging discrimination.
Core responsibilities (across all teams):

Manage cases for children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.

Undertake court-related work where proceedings are initiated.
-
Work within a POD model supported by Team Managers and Senior Practitioners.

Deliver interventions supported by additional specialist services.

Maintain quality, standards, and performance under Service Manager oversight.
Team-specific responsibilities:

Work with children in care and care leavers.

Support disabled children, including those transitioning into Adult Services.
Requirements (person specification):

Essential: Experience within statutory children’s social care, strong relationship-based practice skills, commitment to reflective practice, and Social Work England registration.

Desirable: Confidence using the Signs of Safety methodology and experience working within trauma-informed practice frameworks.
