Social Worker – Children in Care Team
Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £38.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary (3 months initially)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Seven Resourcing is seeking an experienced Social Worker – Children in Care to join a dedicated and high-performing team in Wiltshire. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting looked-after children and care leavers, while working within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Children in Care team, you will play a vital role in improving outcomes for children and young people in care. You will work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners to deliver tailored, child-centred support that promotes safety, stability, and long-term wellbeing.

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work remotely, with attendance required for visits and team meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring all statutory responsibilities are met

  • Develop and implement care plans that reflect the individual needs of each child

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, young people, and their families

  • Work in partnership with carers, schools, and other professionals to deliver coordinated support

  • Support care leavers in their transition to independence

  • Undertake assessments, reviews, and safeguarding interventions as required

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports

  • Attend team meetings (office-based twice per month) and contribute to service development

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration

  • Proven experience working within a Children in Care / Looked After Children team

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its impact on children and young people

  • Experience supporting care leavers or working with children with additional needs (desirable)

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively in a fast-paced environment
