Location: Shefford, Central Bedfordshire (SG17 5TQ)
Contract: Temporary (12 Weeks)
Hours: Full-Time, 37 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: £29.28 PAYE | £39.00 Umbrella
About the Role
Seven Resourcing is currently recruiting for a Qualified Children’s Social Worker to join a Corporate Parenting Team in Central Bedfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to work with looked after children, supporting them through care planning, safeguarding, and court processes.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in children in care, care proceedings, and court work, who are confident delivering high-quality assessments and reports within statutory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Parenting & Case Management
- Manage a caseload of looked after children (LAC)
- Ensure all statutory duties for children in care are met, including care planning and reviews
- Promote positive outcomes, stability, and long-term permanency
Court Work & Assessments
- Prepare high-quality court reports and assessments
- Participate in care proceedings and legal processes
- Provide professional evidence and representation in court when required
Safeguarding & Intervention
- Undertake risk assessments and safeguarding interventions
- Work closely with children and families to ensure safe and effective care planning
- Monitor and review care plans to ensure they meet the needs of each child
Multi-Agency Working
- Work collaboratively with education, health, legal teams, and other partner agencies
- Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings and reviews
- Build strong partnerships to support holistic care for children and young people
Requirements
To be considered for this Children’s Social Worker Job in Central Bedfordshire, you must have:
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with current registration
- Experience working within a Corporate Parenting / Looked After Children Team
- Strong experience in care proceedings and court work
- Proven ability to complete assessments and statutory reports
- Knowledge of UK safeguarding legislation and children’s social care frameworks
