Advanced Practitioner – Children’s Social Care (Assessment / Front Door)
Location: South Shields
Contract: Temporary
Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
Contract Dates: 01 June 2026 – 30 September 2026
Pay Rates PAYE: £27.03 per hour or Umbrella: £35.37 per hour

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join a busy Children’s Social Care assessment and front door service. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and confident practitioner to work within a fast-paced safeguarding environment, supporting timely decision-making and high-quality interventions for children and families.

The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team managing new referrals, assessments and initial safeguarding responses, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake high-quality assessments within a busy front door / referral service
• Provide professional oversight and guidance on complex cases
• Support decision-making in relation to safeguarding and risk
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure effective interventions
• Contribute to duty processes and manage incoming referrals
• Support less experienced social workers through informal supervision and advice
• Ensure timely and accurate case recording in line with statutory requirements
• Promote best practice in safeguarding and child protection
• Assist in improving service delivery and consistency across the team

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with relevant social work qualification
• Significant post-qualifying experience within children’s social care
• Strong background in assessment and safeguarding practice
• Experience working in a front door / duty / MASH-type environment desirable
• Ability to manage complex and high-risk cases confidently
• Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills
• Strong analytical, decision-making and report-writing abilities
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
