Social Worker - Adults Safeguarding & DoLs Team - Rutland (UK) - £To be confirmed Hourly - Ongoing Contract - Full-time
This exciting opportunity with Rutland County Council's Adult Safeguarding and DoLS Team is based in Oakham, Rutland. We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our vibrant team responding to complex and high-risk adult safeguarding enquiries. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working partly from home, with an expectation of two days per week spent in Rutland. As a Social Worker in this dynamic environment, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of adults at risk by upholding the principles of the Care Act and Making Safeguarding Personal practices. Our commitment to preventing harm and reducing abuse or neglect is at the heart of everything we do. This full-time position allows you to create, review, and monitor support plans for some of the most vulnerable in our community, including individuals who may lack capacity to make their own decisions.

What you will do:
- Respond to adult safeguarding enquiries, ensuring adherence to the Care Act and Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
- Promote the safety and well-being of adults at risk and actively contribute to reducing risk and preventing harm.
- Undertake comprehensive social care assessments including complex cases for Rutland residents, partnering with individuals and their carers to develop support or protection plans.
- Collaborate with individuals who may lack capacity to make decisions, completing necessary reports and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- A degree or equivalent in social work, with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant frontline experience in Social Services within the UK as a qualified Social Worker.
- Post-qualifying experience in Section 42 enquiries is essential.
