Social Work Team Manager (Locum) - First Assessment Team - Bristol, UK - £47.50 per hour. Step into this dynamic locum role as a Social Work Team Manager with the First Assessment Team in vibrant Bristol! Commencing from 16th November 2026 until 31st March 2027, this full-time position offers a competitive hourly rate for 37 hours a week. The team is responsible for conducting short assessments ranging from 10 to 25 days to determine pathways, in addition to completing youth homelessness assessments for individuals aged 16 to 17.

What you will do:

- Lead and manage a team of 4 to 5 social workers, providing 4-weekly supervision and clear case direction
- Guide the team through government reform-related transitions and proposed closures
- Collaborate closely with the front door team managers and the Harm Outside of the Home team to ensure seamless service delivery
- Attend strategy discussions to provide expert guidance and decision making
- Conduct short-term assessments to establish the right family help or safeguarding pathways
- Maintain a presence in City Hall daily, facilitating close coordination and communication with the team and city officials
