Team Manager – Children’s Services (Families First Team)
Location: Seaham (SR7 7TT)
Pay Rate: £28.72 PAYE or £37.66 Umbrella per hour
Contract: Temporary
Hours: 37 hours per week (08:30 – 17:00)
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join a Children’s Services Families First Team in Seaham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Work Team Manager seeking locum team manager jobs within a dynamic local authority environment.
This Team Manager role involves leading and managing a team of social workers and family support staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery and positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a team of up to 7 Social Workers, including a Social Work Consultant, EP, and Family Workers

Provide supervision, guidance, and support to all social work staff

Allocate caseloads and oversee workload management across the team

Chair strategy meetings and Public Law Outline (PLO) meetings

Quality assure all written work produced by Social Workers

Attend and present cases in fortnightly legal clinics with Service and Strategic Managers

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and procedures

Support staff development and maintain high performance standards

Undertake additional duties as required by the line manager
Requirements:
-
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
-
Significant experience within Children’s Social Work, including leadership or management experience

Proven ability to manage and supervise social work staff

Strong knowledge of safeguarding, PLO processes, and legal frameworks

Experience chairing meetings and presenting cases in legal settings
-
Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
