What you will do:

• Manage a complex caseload of looked after children, ensuring all statutory duties are fulfilled as per the Children Act 1989.

• Lead and manage care and permanence planning, exploring options such as long-term fostering, adoption, or reunification.

• Conduct and oversee statutory visits, reviews, and pathway planning with a focus on championing the child’s voice in every decision made.

• Prepare and present detailed reports for LAC reviews and court proceedings, ensuring accuracy and quality.

• Facilitate care planning meetings by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best outcomes for children.

Person Specification:

• Must have worked in a similar team with at least 3 years experience in a permanent role.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) with evidence of continued professional development.

• Post-qualifying training is desirable.

Registration & Compliance:

• Registered with Social Work England.

• An enhanced DBS clearance is required.

• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
