  • Lead health, safety, and environmental performance, embedding a strong safety culture across all project activities
  • Maintain full accountability for programme, cost, quality, and risk management, ensuring alignment with client and business objectives
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and forecasts, reporting progress and performance at senior level
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, constraints, and dependencies within a complex operational environment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted senior interface
  • Support and mentor junior project management staff, contributing to capability development and succession planning

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering major infrastructure, rail, or large-scale civil engineering projects
  • Proven experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor, delivering large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge, including experience managing significant project budgets
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Relevant professional qualifications or chartership preferred (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, ICE, RICS, or equivalent)
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with rail and transport standards (e.g. Network Rail standards, TfL requirements, HS2 assurance processes) - highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of temporary works, method statements, and construction sequencing in complex civil environments

What's on offer:

  • The opportunity to work on one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure programmes
  • Long-term project pipeline with strong job security
  • Clear career progression into programme or portfolio leadership roles
  • Comprehensive benefits package and support for continued professional development
