Russell Group Graduate Teaching Assistant

Outstanding Primary School | Brent, North West London Full-Time | Term-Time Only £500 - £600 Per Week Immediate Start Available

Are you a high-achieving Russell Group graduate looking to gain meaningful experience working with primary-aged children?

Would you thrive in an outstanding primary school where you can make a genuine difference to pupils' academic progress, confidence and development?

An exceptional primary school in the London Borough of Brent is seeking ambitious and academically strong Russell Group graduates to join its established support team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly successful and inclusive school community that has built an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding teaching, exceptional pupil outcomes and outstanding pastoral care.

Situated in the heart of a vibrant and diverse community, the school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential. Staff benefit from strong leadership, excellent professional development opportunities and a collaborative culture where everyone works together to ensure pupils thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff across the primary phase, helping pupils develop essential literacy, numeracy and social skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
  • Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions.
  • Providing additional support for pupils requiring academic or pastoral guidance.
  • Assisting class teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
  • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Helping to create a stimulating, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

This role will provide invaluable experience for graduates seeking to develop their understanding of primary education and child development within an outstanding school setting.

Who We're Looking For

The school is keen to hear from graduates who:

  • Hold a degree from a Russell Group university.
  • Have achieved a 2:1 classification or above.
  • Possess strong A-Level and GCSE results.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are enthusiastic, proactive and committed to supporting young learners.
  • Have a genuine interest in education and child development.

Previous experience working with children, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or volunteering is advantageous but not essential.

What the School Offers

  • £500 - £600 per week (term time only).
  • An outstanding primary school with an excellent reputation across Brent.
  • Exceptional mentoring and support from experienced teachers and senior leaders.
  • A welcoming and inclusive school community.
  • Modern facilities and excellent learning resources.
  • Outstanding professional development opportunities.
  • A collaborative staff culture with a strong focus on wellbeing.
  • Full-time role for the academic year.
  • Immediate start opportunities available.

Why Apply?

Unlike many school-based support roles, this opportunity allows you to work closely with individual pupils and smaller intervention groups, enabling you to have a significant impact on children's progress and confidence.

The school has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere where pupils are enthusiastic, respectful and eager to learn. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team committed to helping every child succeed whilst providing graduates with an exceptional school-based experience.

Immediate Vacancies Available

The school is interviewing immediately and looking to appoint exceptional Russell Group graduates to join their dedicated support team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an outstanding primary school whilst making a lasting difference to the educational journey of young learners.
