Job Details:

• Pay: Competitive Basic Salary
• Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, flexible 8:00am/9:00am start with 4:30pm/5:30pm finish; Friday, flexible 8:00am/9:00am start with 2:00pm/3:00pm finish
• Duration: Permanent

Job Role: The Quality Technician will act as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal departments on quality-related matters. Supporting the Quality Team, the role will maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and UKAS requirements, drive continual improvement, investigate quality issues, and help achieve evolving quality targets across the business. The Quality Technician will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and production teams to maintain quality standards and improve product and process performance.

Key responsibilities will include maintaining and continually improving the Quality Management System (QMS), conducting quality system audits, supporting supplier quality investigations, and ensuring quality protocols and documentation are maintained. The Quality Technician will identify root causes of quality issues and support corrective actions using methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, Pareto analysis, and FMEA.

The role will also involve supporting customer complaint investigations, monitoring quality performance data, maintaining quality event reporting, reviewing proposed process changes, inspecting raw materials and components where required, and ensuring product safety requirements are maintained throughout factory operations. The Quality Technician will ensure lessons learned are reflected in procedures, processing routes, and relevant documentation.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• Experience working in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment
• Good working knowledge of quality systems and quality management principles
• Experience working within ISO 9001:2015 requirements or a similar quality standard
• Practical knowledge of non-conformance management and corrective action processes
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, Pareto analysis, FMEA, or similar methodologies
• Ability to analyse quality data, identify trends, and present findings clearly
• Awareness of continuous improvement principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
• The Quality Technician should be confident working collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers on quality-related matters

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• ISO 9001 auditing qualification
• 8D problem-solving training or similar
• Mechanical engineering-related qualification
• Previous auditing or structured problem-solving experience would be advantageous for the Quality Technician

Additional Information

• This position is office-based five days per week; hybrid working is unavailable
