A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Production Operator to join a rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturer in St Albans. Following a significant £14 million investment and expansion, the company is continuing to grow its production operation and is looking to strengthen its manufacturing team.

Working from a state-of-the-art production facility, you’ll be responsible for setting up and operating manufacturing equipment, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and GMP compliance.

The business produces pharmaceutical products on a large scale, supplying major retailers across the UK. With strong investment in its people, equipment and facilities, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The Role – Production Operator

As a Production Operator, you will play an important role in ensuring the manufacturing process runs safely, efficiently and consistently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and operating manufacturing machinery and production equipment.

  • Running equipment safely and efficiently to meet daily production targets.

  • Monitoring machinery and processes to ensure products meet quality standards.

  • Carrying out routine checks and identifying any issues during production.

  • Completing production records, paperwork and documentation accurately.

  • Working in accordance with GMP, SOPs and company quality procedures.

  • Carrying out basic fault finding and escalating technical issues where required.

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised production environment.

  • Supporting continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing process.

  • Working closely with colleagues and other departments to maximise production efficiency.

  • Ensuring all Health & Safety and regulatory requirements are followed at all times.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment.

  • A hands-on approach with good attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work to high quality standards.

  • Willingness to work a rotating days and nights shift pattern.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working within a GMP-regulated environment.

  • Pharmaceutical, food, FMCG or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.

  • Experience working with automated or semi-automated production equipment.

  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
