An exciting locum opportunity is available for a Prison Cleared Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join the Prison Mental Health Team at HMP Lincoln. Role overview:
As part of the prison healthcare team, you will deliver recovery-focused mental health interventions in a safe and structured environment. You will support individuals with a range of mental health needs, often complicated by personality disorders, substance misuse, and social vulnerabilities.

What you will do:

• Mental Health Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals in custody.

• Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans.

• Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver 1:1 mental health interventions to support recovery and stability.

• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risk, responding effectively to crises.

• Medication Management: Administer and monitor medication safely and responsibly.

• Collaborative Working: Work closely with prison staff, GPs, psychiatrists, and wider MDT colleagues.

• Professional Standards: Adhere to security procedures, clinical governance, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.

• Clearance: Must be prison cleared.

• Experience: Previous experience in mental health services is essential.

• Desirable: Experience within forensic, secure, or custodial settings.
