What you will do:
- Craft and distribute compelling news releases in response to media enquiries.
- Identify and propose story angles to local, regional, and national media, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Develop precise media releases and response statements that safeguard and enhance the council's reputation.
- Produce engaging content to keep the community informed and excited about council initiatives.
- Maintain robust communication channels, assisting in marketing campaigns as needed.
- Oversee press and PR operations to ensure continuous enhancement and effectiveness.
- Offer advice to colleagues and manage relationships with media and external contractors.
- Ensure all communications comply with corporate policies and relevant legislation.
