Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse to join a dynamic surgical team in Southend-on-Sea on an ongoing locum basis. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly rate and the flexibility associated with locum work, enabling you to further develop your clinical expertise while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and check orthopaedic instruments, equipment and consumables prior to surgical procedures
Provide skilled scrub support to surgeons during orthopaedic operations
Maintain a sterile field and adhere strictly to infection prevention and control standards
Work collaboratively with the wider theatre team to ensure safe and effective patient care
Support post-operative procedures and assist in patient recovery care
Ensure accurate documentation in line with professional and organisational standards

Person Specification
Essential

Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with valid NMC or HCPC registration
Proven experience working as a Scrub Nurse within orthopaedics
Strong understanding of aseptic technique and theatre protocols
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment

Evidence of continued professional development
