Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality paediatric occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and advice for children, young people, and their families within Islington’s Social Services context. You will work across home, early years, school, and community settings, promoting independence, participation, and inclusion for children while reducing reliance on specialist services.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments across home, school, and community environments to identify functional and participation needs.

  • Develop and deliver individualised intervention plans tailored to children and their families, ensuring active collaboration with carers and professionals.

  • Provide evidence-based OT interventions, including therapeutic programmes, adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and training.

  • Work in close partnership with children’s social care teams and multi-agency professionals to integrate OT input into care planning.

  • Manage a diverse caseload of paediatric referrals, prioritising based on need and tracking progress and outcomes.

  • Offer specialist advice and consultation to colleagues and partner professionals across the children and families service.

  • Contribute to service improvement, audits, and quality assurance projects to promote best practice and effective outcomes.

  • Maintain professional registration, engage in supervision and CPD, and uphold high clinical standards in line with HCPC guidelines.

From leafy parks and cultural landmarks to its diverse population and excellent amenities, it’s a borough that truly celebrates inclusion and opportunity.
