What you will do:

- Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify functional ability, care needs, and opportunities for single-handed care.
- Apply advanced manual handling knowledge to prescribe, demonstrate, and implement suitable moving and handling equipment, assistive technology, and adaptations.
- Work closely with social workers, care agencies, and care coordinators to plan, trial, and implement safe reductions in double-handed care where appropriate.
- Provide expert training, guidance, and risk management advice to carers, families, and support staff in the safe use of equipment and handling techniques.
- Ensure all interventions uphold least restrictive practice principles, promoting independence and dignity while maintaining safety.
- Contribute to organisational efficiency through careful review and redesign of care packages that deliver sustainable cost savings without compromising quality of care.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based reports, risk assessments, and recommendations in line with professional standards and statutory requirements.
- Monitor outcomes and provide follow-up reviews to ensure interventions remain safe, effective, and person-centred.

Requirements:

- Must be HCPC registered.
- Car driver is essential to effectively navigate the community and fulfil job responsibilities.
