What you will do:

Chair and review Looked After Children (LAC) reviews, ensuring care plans are appropriate, effective, and outcome-focused.
Monitor and evaluate the local authority’s performance in relation to care planning, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Provide independent challenge and scrutiny to social work practice, escalating concerns where plans do not meet the child’s needs.
Ensure the child’s voice is heard, advocating for their wishes and feelings within care planning processes.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)
Evidence of continued professional development

Registration and Compliance:

Registered with Social Work England
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks, such as the Children Act 1989, IRO Handbook, and Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations 2010
Enhanced DBS clearance
