Housing Officer in Torquay, Devon

We have an exciting opportunity for two Housing Officers to join the team in Torbay UK. This locum role will start in December and run through January initially, offering a starting rate of £16.34 per hour via PAYE. This position is a full-time role requiring 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday, extending over the Christmas and New Year period, excluding bank holidays. What you will do:

• Provide a high-quality tenancy service including rent arrears advice, successions, mutual exchanges, and handling joint to sole or sole to joint applications.
• Accurately record and monitor tenant requests to ensure efficient service.
• Manage rent collection and arrears services, maintaining accounts according to set policies and procedures.
• Support income maximisation for tenants and offer comprehensive benefits advice.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare court applications if necessary, and attend court hearings.
• Collaborate with tenants and communities to develop solutions for building resilience and independence, allowing tenants to better manage their homes.
• Work closely with the Housing Manager to address tenancy breaches, collaborating with tenants on action plans and taking legal action if necessary.
• Perform general administrative duties for the Housing Manager, such as arranging and documenting team meetings.

About You:

• Hold a CIH Housing Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Possess knowledge of Estate Management and have a strong commitment to customer and service user involvement.
