The Role
We are seeking a reliable and flexible General Hospitality Assistant to support our hospitality operations across housekeeping, the tearoom, and events. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people and being part of a supportive team.
The position is casual and hours are offered on an as-and-when-required basis. Shifts will include weekends and bank holidays.
Main Responsibilities but not limited to:-
Housekeeping
- Cleaning guest bedrooms and bathrooms to a high standard
- Cleaning public areas across the Abbey site
- Undertaking deep cleaning tasks as required
Tearoom
- Serving hot drinks and food to guests
- Preparing drinks and light refreshments
- Clearing and cleaning tables
- Providing friendly and efficient customer service
Events & Functions
- Assisting with the service of lunches and dinners
- Supporting guests attending events, retreats, and functions
- Helping with room setup and clear-down
- Directing guest parking and offering general assistance
Skills and Attributes
You will be:
- Friendly, approachable, and professional
- Reliable and flexible with availability
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Able to work independently when required
Essential Requirements
- Own transport is essential due to the Abbey’s remote location
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to undertake physical tasks such as cleaning and standing for periods
