Head of Quality
Location – St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (40 hours)
Job Role
The Head of Quality will lead Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety for a well-established UK pharmaceutical manufacturer operating to GMP/GxP standards. The Head of Quality will own and continuously improve the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS), driving a culture of compliance, patient safety and continuous improvement across the business. The Head of Quality will play a key role in inspection readiness, leading MHRA inspections and audits while advising the senior leadership team on quality and regulatory risk. The Head of Quality role offers the chance to shape quality strategy at a site that has recently seen major investment, including a modern manufacturing facility and on-site QC lab.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of Head of Quality
- Must have significant leadership experience in pharmaceutical or GMP Environment
- Experience in a senior quality role
- Must have strong working knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Systems (PQS/QMS), including deviations, CAPA, change control, complaints and OOS/OOT.
Desireable requirements of Head of Quality
- Strong ability to drive a site-wide quality culture, governance and KPI-led continuous improvement.
- Experience overseeing supplier quality, supplier qualification and third-party quality management.
- Experience supporting product lifecycle activities (e.g. variations, renewals, specifications, labelling changes, safety updates).
- Confident communicator able to advise senior stakeholders on quality, patient safety, efficacy and regulatory risk.
