Graduate Teaching Assistant

Outstanding Primary School | Redbridge, East London
Full-Time | Term-Time Only
£500 - £600 Per Week
Immediate Start Available

Are you a high-achieving Russell Group graduate looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young children?

Are you seeking a rewarding opportunity within an outstanding primary school where academic excellence, strong values and exceptional pastoral care are at the heart of everything they do?

A highly respected and oversubscribed primary school in the London Borough of Redbridge is seeking ambitious, enthusiastic and academically strong graduates to join its dedicated support team.

This welcoming and community-focused school has built an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding educational experiences, fostering a caring and nurturing environment, and ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential. The school places a strong emphasis on kindness, inclusivity, respect and high expectations, creating an environment where both pupils and staff flourish.

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working alongside experienced teachers and support staff to deliver exceptional learning experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom across a range of subjects.
  • Delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.
  • Working with small groups to boost attainment and confidence.
  • Providing one-to-one support for pupils requiring additional guidance.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Supporting the social, emotional and academic development of pupils.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same, providing graduates with valuable experience within an outstanding primary school setting.

Who We're Looking For

The school is keen to hear from graduates who have:

  • A degree from a Russell Group university.
  • A 2:1 classification or above.
  • Strong A-Level and GCSE results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, patient and proactive approach.
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Previous experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering or working with children is beneficial but not essential.

What Makes This School Special?

The successful candidate will be joining a school renowned for its warm and inclusive atmosphere, where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and personally.

The school offers:

  • £500 - £600 per week (term time only).
  • An outstanding learning environment with excellent facilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and staff support.
  • Comprehensive training and professional development.
  • A welcoming and friendly staff team.
  • Strong links with parents and the local community.
  • Well-behaved, enthusiastic pupils who enjoy coming to school.
  • Smaller intervention groups, allowing you to provide personalised support and make a measurable impact on pupil progress.
  • A full-time position for the remainder of the academic year.
  • Immediate start opportunities available.

Why Apply?

Unlike many school-based support roles, this opportunity offers the chance to work closely with individual pupils and small groups, enabling you to build meaningful relationships and have a direct impact on children's academic development and confidence.

You will be joining a school where children are eager to learn, behaviour is excellent and staff are committed to helping every pupil succeed. The supportive and nurturing environment makes this a fantastic opportunity for graduates looking to gain valuable experience whilst making a genuine difference.

Immediate Interviews Available

The school is interviewing immediately and looking to appoint exceptional graduates who can bring energy, enthusiasm and academic excellence to their classrooms.

If you are a motivated Russell Group graduate looking to join a thriving primary school community and play a meaningful role in supporting young learners, we would love to hear from you.
