What you will do:

- Perform and independently report a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynaecological, vascular, and small parts imaging.
- Analyse and interpret ultrasound images to provide accurate diagnostic reports to support clinical decision-making.
- Ensure examinations are performed safely and effectively in line with professional guidelines from organisations such as the Society and College of Radiographers and British Medical Ultrasound Society.
- Communicate findings appropriately with referrers and escalate urgent or unexpected results according to departmental protocols.
- Provide high-quality patient care, explaining procedures and obtaining informed consent while maintaining patient dignity and safety.
- Participate in service development, quality assurance, clinical audit, and implementation of best practice standards.
- Support training and supervision of junior sonographers, radiography staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with governance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team working and continuous professional development in accordance with professional regulatory standards such as the Health and Care Professions Council.
