This is an exciting opportunity to step into a pivotal role as a Band 7 Occupational Therapist Team Manager in Marston Green, Solihull, where you will work across Assessment and Treatment Services and Forensic Learning Disability Services. What you will do:
- Manage a specialist clinical caseload of patients with complex occupational therapy needs.
- Deliver person-centred, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Complete comprehensive functional assessments and identify therapeutic needs, risks, and barriers.
- Undertake structured initial assessments and interpret referrals.
- Develop and deliver individualised treatment plans with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team colleagues.
- Provide Occupational Therapy input across inpatient and community settings.
- Contribute specialist Occupational Therapy knowledge within multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide clinical leadership and support service planning and development.
- Coordinate day-to-day Occupational Therapy service provision.
- Supervise, support, and develop junior Occupational Therapists and support staff.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to audits, governance activities, service improvement initiatives, and quality assurance projects.
- Support risk management and safeguarding processes.
Requirements:
- HCPC Registration: HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist (or eligible for registration).
- Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience: Experience within mental health, learning disability, forensic, or complex inpatient services.
- Caseload Management: Experience managing a clinical caseload.
- Therapeutic Practice: Experience delivering structured Occupational Therapy interventions.
- Practice Knowledge: Strong understanding of recovery-focused and person-centred practice.
- Leadership Skills: Experience supervising, supporting, and leading junior staff.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Requirements:
- Service Development: Experience contributing to service development.
- Quality Improvement: Audit and quality improvement experience.
- Clinical Leadership: Experience leading specialist Occupational Therapy services.
- Service Experience: Community and inpatient service experience.
