What you will do:

Provide day-to-day management and operational oversight of the Children With Disability Team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and safeguarding practice.

Deliver effective interventions using a range of theoretical frameworks and practical approaches.

Manage caseload allocation to ensure the needs of children and young people are met effectively.

Support and guide staff in preparing high-quality court reports and navigating legal proceedings.

Assist team members in completing assessments and risk evaluations, ensuring best practice standards are maintained.

Chair and support core group meetings, maintaining a strong focus on child-centred practice.

Co-work complex cases and provide supervision and guidance to social workers and students.

Lead hub meetings and group supervision sessions, ensuring clear oversight of case progression.

Deliver high-quality reflective case supervision to support professional development and effective practice.
Person specification:
Essential:
-
Professional Social Work Degree or equivalent qualification.
-
Social Work England registration.
-
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, frameworks, and procedures relating to children’s services.

Experience managing social workers and delivering high-quality frontline services.

Demonstrated experience in case planning, assessments, and managing complex cases.
-
Strong understanding of child protection risk analysis and safeguarding interventions.
-
Commitment to human rights, equality, and inclusive practice.

Specialist knowledge of key issues affecting children such as Domestic Abuse or Mental Health.

Commitment to continuous professional development.

IT proficiency, including experience using electronic case management systems.
Desirable:

Postgraduate qualification or willingness to undertake further study.

Experience in team coordination and resource management.

Experience conducting reflective supervision and appraisals.

Budget management experience.

UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
