What you will do:
- Conduct thorough visits to various temporary accommodations, including bed and breakfast and nightly paid options, ensuring they meet legislative and council criteria for suitability and safety.
- Perform detailed suitability assessments to identify potential health and safety risks, reports of overcrowding, disrepair, or mismanagement and recommend appropriate actions.
- Engage empathetically with residents, understanding the impact of temporary accommodation on their mental health, family dynamics, and overall quality of life.
- Spot potential safeguarding issues and make necessary referrals to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Verify resident occupancy and household composition to prevent housing-related fraud, protecting taxpayer funds.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, and collaborate seamlessly with internal teams and accommodation providers to enhance service delivery.
- Actively contribute to service improvement initiatives and work towards reducing reliance on bed and breakfast accommodations.
