What you will do:
- Assist the Housing Support Accountant in managing the payment functions, ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate to support the delivery of the Council’s medium-term financial strategies and enhance the Council’s Strategic Plan.
- Utilize your professional judgement to analyze financial information, providing necessary support for Housing Payables.
- Work closely within the Housing Support Finance team and with external partners to provide robust financial support.
- Meet key deadlines and proactively challenge and improve current financial processes.
- Identify and address emerging financial issues, recommending corrective measures when needed.

Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with basic knowledge of invoice requirements including VAT.
- Team-oriented but capable of working independently and knowing when to escalate issues.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Hold 4 GCSE’s Grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English, or demonstrate equivalent numeracy and literacy skills.
- Committed to personal and professional development, with an understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
