What you will do:

  • Undertake psychological assessments of children and young people across various educational settings, utilising observations, interviews, and standardised tests to identify their strengths, needs, and appropriate interventions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to schools, parents, and carers, supporting learning, behaviour, communication, and emotional and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, school leadership, SENCos, and other professionals in multi-disciplinary meetings and case conferences, ensuring a holistic approach to each case.
  • Contribute to statutory processes, including EHCPs, offering psychological advice as mandated by legislation.
  • Develop and implement targeted programmes and interventions, including behaviour management and learning support, to support both individual and group needs.
  • Deliver training and workshops for staff in schools and settings on key psychological topics, promoting resilience, communication, and inclusive practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including assessment and consultancy reports, and evaluate the impact of interventions on the learning outcomes of children and young people.
  • Promote inclusive practice and support strategic priorities such as SEND and early intervention, contributing to the overall success of the service.
  • Travel between different educational settings as needed, attending meetings outside standard hours and ensuring that test equipment is appropriately utilised.
