What you will do:

  • Respond to calls as directed by the call centre.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and deliver high standards of care for detainees, determining fitness for detention, interview, release, or transfer.
  • Manage minor illnesses or injuries and make appropriate referrals for more serious conditions.
  • Undertake forensic examinations, document injuries, and collect DNA evidence as required.
  • Examine police officers or staff injured on duty, managing their care appropriately.
  • Collect specimens as outlined by legislation.
  • Operate within the Police and Criminal Evidence Act Code C.
  • Provide written statements within 7-10 days of request and testify in Court or Tribunal as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records, accessible to the company always.
  • Evaluate alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal.
  • Perform Mental Health and Learning Disability assessments where applicable.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Lead and Head of Clinical Operations to enhance medical services.
  • Fulfill duties as a Forensic Clinician in custody, adhering to legal and professional requirements.
  • Promote company policies on Equality, Diversity, Dignity, Information Governance, and Safeguarding.
  • Use the RADAR System effectively.


Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) or Paramedic with a minimum of two years qualified experience, or three years depending on the contract.
  • NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture.
  • Residency in the UK for at least three years.
  • Nursing experience in A&E, ITU, EAU, SAU, Nurse Practitioner roles, etc.
  • A valid UK driving licence with access to a car for work purposes.


Desirable qualifications:

  • Leadership course or qualification.
  • Experience collaborating with team members and external parties in patient care review.
  • Track record of innovative practice.
