What you will do:
- Provide specialist SLT services to clients after stroke, exhibiting high competence in managing communication and swallowing disorders, understanding the broad impacts of stroke.
- Collaborate effectively with the ESD, stroke, and neuro pathways, supporting the inpatient multidisciplinary team.
- Manage and prioritize a complex clinical caseload, ensuring high-quality client care.
- Offer advice and support to clients, carers, and volunteers on post-stroke communication and swallowing challenges.
- Assess needs for alternative and augmentative communication aids, providing necessary training to clients and carers.
- Offer guidance and supervision to colleagues regarding SLT interventions for stroke and neurological conditions while promoting continuous professional development.
- Work in partnership with local and regional agencies to develop long-term support for stroke survivors with communication difficulties, following Long Term Support Commissioning Guidelines.
- Develop and evaluate training programs for carers and team members on SLT interventions.
Requirements:
- You must be HCPC registered, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
- A valid driving licence is required to facilitate traveling across various service areas.
