Facilities Engineer – Newton Abbot | £40,000 + Benefits

Monday to Friday, Days | 40 hours per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Engineer to join a leading food manufacturing site based in Newton Abbot. This role offers stability, variety, and the chance to work within a well-established engineering team supporting a busy production environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of all site facilities and services, ensuring safe and efficient operation across the site. The position involves both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of systems, including boilers, HVAC, and refrigeration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across site facilities and plant equipment.

• Maintain and service boilers, steam systems, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment.

• Support utilities such as compressed air, water, and waste systems.

• Identify and resolve faults quickly to minimise downtime.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards.

• Work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams to complete projects efficiently.

About You

You’ll be an experienced facilities or maintenance engineer with a good mix of mechanical and electrical knowledge. A background in manufacturing or building services is highly desirable.

Requirements:

• Experience in facilities or building services maintenance.

• Knowledge of boiler, steam, HVAC, and refrigeration systems.

• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proactive, organised, and safety-conscious approach.
