The Barnsley Looked After Children Team is seeking a temporary Social Work - Independent Reviewing Officer for an engaging and dynamic role until the end of December. Situated in the heart of Barnsley, this position offers the opportunity to work with highly skilled professionals, while earning £40 per hour. This role is available for both full-time and part-time candidates, with a minimum of three days on-site per week.

What you will do:

- Lead and chair complex meetings to assess and review care plans for looked after children, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met.
- Engage with a multi-agency framework to provide comprehensive care for service users, fostering partnerships that support children and families.
- Keep abreast of and apply relevant legislative and regulatory guidelines concerning looked after children, such as Care Planning Regulations.
- Fulfill the duties and responsibilities outlined in the IRO Handbook with diligence and attention to detail.
- Provide insightful and proactive recommendations for care plans, promoting the well-being and development of each child.

Please note: This role does not involve chairing child protection conferences.

Candidates must have extensive experience across various statutory social work teams, particularly with looked after children and families. A proven ability to chair complex meetings and work effectively within a multi-agency framework is essential.
