Overview
An exciting locum opportunity is available for a Band 6 Senior Neonatal Staff Nurse at Nobles Hospital, the leading acute care facility on the Isle of Man. This ongoing role offers a competitive hourly rate of £40.00 and the flexibility of both full-time and part-time arrangements.
You will provide specialised neonatal care, mentor junior staff, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence within the Neonatal Unit.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates in intensive, high-dependency, and special care settings.

Mentor and support Band 5 and junior nurses, promoting professional growth and development.

Conduct clinical assessments, create care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes.

Administer medications and treatments safely, adhering to professional standards and hospital policies.

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including neonatologists and paediatric specialists.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Champion quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of neonatal policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.

Act as a professional role model and foster a positive, collaborative team culture.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.

Experience in neonatal or paediatric nursing.

Demonstrable competence at Band 6 level, including leadership and mentorship skills.

Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Desirable:

Post-registration qualification in neonatal or paediatric nursing.

Experience in quality improvement or clinical governance projects.

Training in Advanced Neonatal Life Support (NLS) or equivalent.
