Overview

An exciting locum opportunity is available for a Social Worker within the Referral & Assessment Team in Kingston and Richmond. This role offers flexibility with both part-time and full-time options and provides a competitive hourly rate. You will work closely with children, young people, and their families, ensuring statutory safeguarding requirements are met and delivering high-quality, multi-agency support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Initial Assessments & Investigations: Conduct thorough assessments for new referrals, participate in strategy discussions, and attend initial child protection conferences. Carry out child protection investigations and develop safety plans in line with statutory requirements.

  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of complex and short-term Child in Need cases. Develop and implement care plans collaboratively with families and professionals.

  • Intervention & Support: Deliver direct support to children and families, focusing on positive outcomes. Collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure integrated service delivery.

  • Court Proceedings: Initiate and participate in legal proceedings as required, including applying for Emergency Protective Orders and preparing detailed reports for court cases.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely case records in compliance with departmental policies. Prepare reports for child protection conferences and other key review meetings.

  • Professional Development: Engage in supervision and reflective practice sessions, and participate in training opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
