What you will do:
- Take on the role of a case responsible person or allocated social worker for children involved in care proceedings or those in long-term care. Develop and progress permanent alternative care planning for these children.
- Conduct direct work with children in care, understanding their lived experiences, wishes, and feelings; engage in life story work and produce impactful life story books.
- Write, review, and update children’s care plans with a focus on their identified needs.
- Prepare reports for Children in Care reviews and court proceedings to inform the decision-making process.
- Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including the child’s carers, parents, family network, IRO, Guardian, as well as health and education professionals, to ensure comprehensive care planning.
- Engage in travel to various placements, including rural areas, to visit children—driving is an essential part of this role.
