Locum Job Opportunity: Band 7 Occupational Therapist within Intermediate Care in Barrow in Furness (UK), Earning £30 Hourly, Ongoing Contract
Embark on a rewarding journey as a Band 7 Occupational Therapist in the vibrant location of Barrow in Furness. This is an ongoing locum contract offering a competitive hourly rate of £30. With core hours of 08:30 to 16:30 from Monday to Friday and flexibility for an extended day from 08:00 to 18:30 if you prefer, this full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within the Integrated Community Therapy Team. Your expertise will be invaluable in the Intermediate Care Unit and Discharge to Assess team, where you'll support the screening of new referrals, assess therapy needs, and participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

What you will do:
- Support the social worker with screening new referrals to the unit.
- Assess residents for therapy needs, including environmental and home visits as needed.
- Attend and actively participate in MDT meetings.
- Provide effective therapy input and rehabilitation for patients.
- Collaborate with the Physio and OT therapy assistant to deliver comprehensive care.
- Write detailed notes using EMIS electronic records and Lorenzo.
- Perform community visits; as such, being a car driver is essential.
- Occasionally cover other service streams, including home assessments and supporting the inpatient team or wellness centre.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Recent UK and NHS experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
