What you will do:
- Assist anaesthetists in preparing operating theatres and anaesthetic rooms before surgery.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs during surgical procedures and communicate observations to the anaesthetist.
- Ensure the correct functionality and cleanliness of anaesthetic equipment.
- Support patients with information and reassurance pre- and post-operation.
- Maintain absolute compliance with surgical and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a seamless operative process.

Requirements of the role:
- Degree or Diploma in Operating Department Practice or Nursing.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for ODPs or with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for Theatre Nurses.
- Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support (ALS), Immediate Life Support (ILS), or Surgical First Assistant (SFA) training are beneficial.
- Experience in an operating theatre or critical care setting, including anaesthetic, scrub, or recovery roles.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment maintenance, and infection control practices.
