Your Role as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

You will play a key role in helping children with additional needs succeed in the classroom by:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs

  • Collaborating with class teachers and the SENCO to adapt lessons and activities

  • Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and building strong, trusting relationships

  • Assisting in the monitoring of progress and planning of targeted interventions

  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and a love of learning in every pupil

Who This Role is Ideal For

We’re looking for graduates who:

  • Hold a 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology, Education, English, Maths, or a related subject

  • Are passionate about helping children with special educational needs

  • Are calm, patient, and empathetic in their approach

  • Possess strong communication and collaboration skills

  • May have previous experience working with children or young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, or volunteering)
