A highly regarded specialist school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. The school supports pupils aged 11–19 with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on speech & communication difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates to gain first-hand experience in a professional SEN environment while making a genuine difference.

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have speech, language, and communication needs, as well as associated learning barriers. You will support pupils 1:1, in small groups, and in class to help them access the curriculum. This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve implementing interventions, promoting effective communication, and working alongside specialist staff such as Speech & Language Therapists.

Ideal Candidate – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • A 2:1 or above in Psychology, Linguistics, English, or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience when supporting learners with complex needs
  • Experience in SEN, care, or youth work is an advantage but not essential
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
