What you will do:

  • Deliver and model excellent social work practice with care leavers, ensuring that all statutory duties under relevant legislation are met.
  • Provide professional leadership, mentoring, and reflective supervision to colleagues, supporting newly qualified and less experienced social workers.
  • Manage complex casework effectively, particularly for care leavers facing multiple vulnerabilities such as substance misuse or mental health needs.
  • Chair meetings, case discussions, and planning sessions, ensuring young people’s voices are at the forefront of decision-making.
  • Support the Team Manager by ensuring exceptional service performance, compliance, and maintaining high standards of practice within your team.
  • Foster strong partnerships with housing, education, health, probation, and voluntary sector agencies for optimal outcomes for care leavers.
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and life skills in care-experienced young individuals, preparing them for a thriving adult life.
  • Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and quality assurance processes, ensuring the service continues to evolve and improve.
