We are seeking an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dedicated Joint Homelessness Team (JHT) on a full-time, ongoing contract. This dynamic role offers a competitive rate of £40 per hour, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact supporting homeless individuals with complex mental health needs. The position involves a hybrid working pattern, with office-based duties interspersed with one early morning or late evening outreach shift per month. What you will do:
- Supervise and support social work staff, ensuring effective caseload management.
- Lead social care delivery, including Care Act eligibility and personal budgets, while addressing no recourse to public funds and Section 117 aftercare under the Mental Health Act.
- Serve as a Safeguarding Adults Manager, investigating safeguarding concerns to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Collaborate with individuals, families, and carers to promote recovery and self-care.
- Chair clinical and team meetings as required, sharing your expertise and insights.
- Hold a small caseload and participate in clinical social work activities, practising as an AMHP for the team.
- Maintain AMHP approval and registration with Social Work England.
- Conduct assessments in diverse settings such as street outreach, day centres, and hostels.
- Perform and document Care Act assessments, making necessary referrals.
- Take the lead on hospital discharge planning and collaborate with health colleagues for longer-term service user management.
- Participate in the team’s duty system to ensure comprehensive support coverage.
