What you will do:
- Conduct in-depth neurological assessments and design effective treatment plans and interventions
- Implement rehabilitation interventions to enhance functionality and independence in activities of daily living
- Perform cognitive assessments and rehabilitation to support cognitive function
- Utilize therapeutic handling skills and assess environments for equipment needs including specialist seating
- Identify ongoing needs and work towards maximising quality of life
- Coordinate with community colleagues to streamline complex discharge planning
- Evaluate treatment outcomes in alignment with care plans and goals
- Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy support staff and students
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic activities
To be a successful Senior Occupational Therapist, you will need:
- An Occupational Therapy professional qualification
- At least four years of post-qualifying experience
- Extensive clinical experience with adults with complex needs
- Proven ability to apply occupational frames of reference and approaches effectively
- Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
- Understanding of working with vulnerable individuals with Learning Disabilities Autism and mental illness
