Locum Social Worker - Duty & Short Term Team within Walsall UK, earning £30.57 Hourly

You'll be responsible for providing immediate support and intervention for children and families in need. What you will do:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the service
- Respond swiftly to new referrals and perform initial assessments and home visits
- Develop and implement tailored plans to support children and families, ensuring a child-focused approach
- Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners to deliver effective safeguarding and intervention services
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements
- Present cases in Child Protection Conferences and court proceedings as needed
Essential requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
- Proven experience working in Duty and Assessment or Children's Services teams
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a complex caseload
- Previous experience working within a local authority setting
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Working both remotely and at least 3 days in the office, this role allows you to integrate into a supportive duty team while enjoying some flexibility.
