Purpose of the Role
To provide direct, person-centred support to individuals facing challenges such as mental health issues, substance misuse, or housing difficulties. The Recovery Worker will work alongside service users to design and deliver personalised support plans that build independence, promote wellbeing, and achieve recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with service users to create and review tailored recovery plans.

Provide practical support with budgeting, tenancy management, and benefits access.

Encourage healthy lifestyle choices and link individuals to appropriate health services.

Facilitate group sessions and promote engagement with community resources.

Identify and address safeguarding concerns, managing risk effectively.

Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with policies and compliance standards.
Person Specification
Essential
-
Experience supporting vulnerable adults in areas such as mental health, substance misuse, or housing.

Knowledge of safeguarding processes and ability to maintain professional boundaries.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable

Familiarity with recovery models and harm reduction approaches.

Experience in facilitating groups or peer support.

NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.
